The network of paths in the Upper Tiber area is very rich and varied . The CAI – Italian Alpine Club, Section of Città di Castello and the Comunità Montana Alta Umbria care and promote it with particular attention.
From Città di Castello the network of routes extends south towards Monte Cedrone, Monte Santa Maria up to the Abbey of Marzana and the top of Monte Favalto. To the east the paths reach the Apennine ridge towards Pietralunga and Monte Nerone, while to the north – west, after the hermitage of Monte Casale, they continue towards the Alpe della Luna, the hermitage of Cerbaiolo up to the La Verna Sanctuary .
