At about two kilometres from Città di Castello, it is in a small park. Already famous in the roman period, Pliny the Younger took his wife here, Calpurnia, so that she would remain beautiful and slim. Through the centuries the baths have often been valued. They offer a vast range of specialized remedies and natural treatments and there is a lot of emphasis on relaxation, fitness and psycho-physical balance. The water and mud baths are sulfurous. The quality of service offered have allowed the Thermal Baths to boast the title of “Prima Categoria Super”. They are well-known in the whole of Italy and anyone who wants to get fit or simply maintain mental and physical equilibrium will enjoy a visit. There are also diagnosis and therapy centres dealing in cardiology, pneumology, orthopedic rehabilitation, angiology, neurology and otolaryngology. Many treatments are offered: mud therapy, balneotherapy, hydro-massages, Kneipp baths, traditional massages, inhalation treatments, rehabilitation and physiotherapy. The new Wellness Centre provides facials, slimming and anti cellulite treatments, diets, beauty massages, lymphatic drainage and sun beds. The trail, from the town centre to the baths, is a favourite one to who enjoys walking and jogging.
